African membres of the Executive Board
The Executive Board of UNESCO has at present 13 African Members who represent the Africa region. The Board has 58 Member States in all and acts as a governing board. It supervises the execution of resolutions adopted by the General Conference, the UNESCO supreme governing body, which meets every two years at full strength with all Member States to examine and adopt the Organization’s programme and budget.
The African Member States represented on the Executive Board are at present: Benin, Chad, Côte d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Madagascar, Malawi, Nigeria, South Africa, Togo and Uganda .
