Documenting Darfur and Southern Sudan

Tom Adami is a professional archivist and records manager who works for the UN mission in Sudan since 2007. He is responsible for the management of all records of the Sudan mission. Before he came to Sudan he worked for the National Archives of Australia from 1997 to 1999 and then joined the UN International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda where he worked until 2007. This is his presentation at the Congress of the International Council on Archives in Kuala Lumpur on 23 July 2008.

Le  droit d'accès à l'information


The Committee on International Non-Governmental Organizations of UNESCO's Executive Board organized an open forum on "Human Rights in the age of globalization, the reinforcement of partnerships." It took place on 3 October as part of the 180th session of the Executive Board and its last part was dedicated to the "Right to Access Information".

«Sans voix, sans visage, pour ne pas les oublier », un projet d'exposition

La conférence tenue au Cap en novembre 2003 dans le cadre du cycle des CITRA de l’ICA, sur le thème « Archives et droits de l’homme », fut un moment d’intense émotion, mais aussi, pour certains d’entre nous, une véritable révélation sur un aspect méconnu de notre mission. 

Ce rôle clef que nous pouvons être amenés à jouer dans la lutte contre la violation des droits de l’homme, en tant que professionnels, et dans le respect de notre code de déontologie, il s’agissait aussi de l’expliquer et d’en démontrer l’évidence au grand public. 

Ainsi prit forme l’idée d’une exposition virtuelle proposée par Gabrielle Nishiguchi, archiviste canadienne, particulièrement sensibilisée à cette question puisqu'elle est issue de la minorité japonaise du Canada, qui fut brimée par les autorités canadiennes pendant la deuxième guerre mondiale.
