Summary/Historical Context

Capital of the Khmer empire, Angkor constitutes an extraordinary and unique architectural conglomerate. The birthplace of a civilization capable of reconciling the highest spiritual aspirations with the events of everyday life, Angkor was the home of the Khmer civilization at its apogee from the ninth to the thirteenth centuries.

This documentary offers an extensive panorama of the site and the conservation work under way in the late 1990's
