Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that press freedom is a right. Therefore UNESCO commemorates the World Press Freedom Day every year on 3rd May around the world. This is an opportunity to celebrate the fundamental principles of press freedom, to evaluate it, to defend the media from attacks on its independence and to pay tribute to the journalist who have lost their lives in the exercise of their profession
