The Sowame village of about 500 inhabitants is one of the first villages in Senegal to benefit from a new literacy partnership between UNESCO and the multinational firm Procter & Gamble. The literacy class in Sowame is among the first 100 classes launched in May 2012 as part of the project. This is the first phase.
