Meeting of small European member states before the Information
Society summit
About 32 representatives of public services, civil society
and the private sector from Europe's small UNESCO member-states
(Andorra, the Holy See, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta,
Monaco and San Marino) will meet to work out a joint strategy
for the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) to be held
in Geneva in 2003 and Tunis in 2005.

Asian regional conference for the World Summit on the Information
Society
This preparatory ministerial meeting, organized by the Japanese
government and several UN agencies, will enable Asian countries
to formulate proposals for the World Summit on the Information
Society (Geneva 2003, Tunis 2005). On January 13 (10.30 a.m.)
UNESCO will stage a panel discussion on cultural and linguistic
diversity. More
