[27.03.2000] - IPDC GRANTS FUNDS TO 57 MEDIA PROJECTS WORLDWIDE IN 2000
The Intergovernmental Council of UNESCO's International Programme for the Development of Communication (IPDC) ended its 20th session at UNESCO Headquarters on March 24 with a decision to allocate funds to nine media projects in developing countries, in addition to the forty-eight projects approved by the IPDC Bureau in September 1999. Theatres, cinemas, concert halls and other cultural and performing arts centres around the world are invited to take part in an International Day of Solidarity with the Bolshoi Theatre on March 28 by setting aside some of the box-office takings of one performance on that day for the restoration of one of the world's most celebrated theatres, founded on the same date 224 years ago.
