What is this?

CCIVS is promoting sustainable and responsible development, peace between communities and countries and intercultural exchanges. It has clearly something to do with - and something to say upon - the phenomenon of globalisation. One of the recommendations of the 2001 General Assembly already paved the way: CCIVS should work for a "globalisation with a human face". The globalisation Kit has been created for that purpose. It includes an introduction to the theme of globalisation, games and activities on the topic (especially a two-hour game called "The Tribunal"), general texts, internet sites and a reference bibliography, reports on actions undertaken by some members and a page called "suggestions" to close it all.

We are clear that the Kit is not a set of strong ideas on globalisation. There is no such thing within CCIVS as a globalisation theory”, at the latest a number of related opinions, articles, publications, etc. It is rather seen as a channel through which the ideas circulating within the movement can merge into a given space and confront each other. The Kit is a means for everyone to express or make their own opinion on globalisation and CCIVS member organisations as a whole can develop a common approach of the issue.

We could say that the Kit will develop on its own, following the extensions that will be made, and as an image of what the movement is thinking! The gathered information will always remain available for CCIVS members. For the sake of the method, members are encouraged to add other texts, references, games and activities that they will consider relevant. They will be able to do so during or after the game, or whenever they want to, through the “suggestions” page at the end of the Kit. The kit should quickly become a web site that is always developing, open to everyone, whenever and wherever, and could be partly changed by CCIVS members themselves.

What to do?

CAUTION! THE KIT IS A LIVING DOCUMENT! IT IS MEANT TO DEVELOP EACH TIME IT IS USED!
READ, PLAY AND ADD THINGS!

Each time you are using the Kit with a group, please send us a report of the arguments and main conclusions that you collected and we can add to this part of the site.
