- Student scholarship
: The International Peace Research Association Foundation, IPRA, is offering a
two-year scholarship to Third World women to do graduate work in areas of interest to
IPRA. This award is contingent on acceptance into a graduate peace and conflict studies
program. Next award date: February 15, 2000. Application deadline: January 15,
1999.

- The Women and a Culture of Peace programme has organized a Presentation and Discussion
on Men Against Violence: A Culture of Peace Perspective which will be held
on Saturday October 30, 1999, from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm in Salle XIV at UNESCO Headquarters
in Paris. The guest speaker at this occasion will by Mr. Michael Kaufman, founder and
International Director of the White Ribbon Campaign.

- During the 27th International Conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent
Societies a round-table workshop, organized by the Swedish Red Cross in collaboration with
UNESCO and UNICEF will be held on Promoting a Culture of Peace: Highlighting the
Role of Men and Masculinity at the Omega Auditorium, International Red Cross and
Red Crescent Museum, Geneva, Wednesday, November 3, 1999 from 13:00 17:00.

- The Seventh Congress of the Association of Interbalkan Womens Cooperation
