The Director-General of UNESCO gave a lecture at Italy's Centro di Alti Studi per la Difesa (CASD) on 'UNESCO and the Culture of Peace'. Signature of a protocol of intent with CASD concerning collaboration between the armed forces of the northern and southern Mediterranean in the fields of telemedicine, civil defence and safeguarding the environment and the cultural heritage.
