Educational
Intervention in a private primary school in Larissa |
On the 20th
and 21st of April (10am - 1pm) Professors of the Aristotle University of
Thessaloniki and the Interdisciplinary Student Team of the UNESCO Chair, carried out an
Educational Intervention in a private primary school in Larissa, the subject of which was
the Education on Human Rights and Peace.
The Intervention aimed at sensitizing the pupils to Human Rights and Peace Issues. In
particular, the activities (exercises and games of experiential learning) helped the
children to get to know themselves and each other and to develop feelings of friendship
and trust. The main themes of the exercises were for the children to learn to cooperate,
to develop conscience of their interdependence, to have an insight of the causes which
lead to conflicts and to search for ways of resolving conflicts creatively.
The educational material used (exercises, games, situations of experiential learning) has
been taken from relevant publications of the UN, UNESCO, UNICEF and other International
Organizations. |
