Une comédie musicale appelée « Peace Child - Maroc » est organisée autour des festivités commémorant l'anniversaire de l'intronisation de Sa Majesté le Roi Mohammed VI dans les villes suivantes : Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakech, Fès et Tanger.   Cette manifestation fera appel à de hautes compétences nationales et étrangères en matière d'écriture, de direction musicale, de chorégraphie et de design des costumes, et sera animée par des jeunes artistes agés de 11 à 18 ans originaires des cinque continents.

The conference will culminate in a public visionary meeting for a Culture of Peace, where invited experts will discuss the possibility for global peace.

Participants in this years International Meeting of Folk Dancing Groups include, amongst others, Kenya, South Africa, Spain, Ghana, Ukraine and Greece. The Meeting is organised by the Municipal Organisation for Culture, Sykies Thessaloniki and its central theme is "Peace and the Friendship among Nations". The Municipality of Sykies Thessaloniki in co-operation with the UNESCO Chair of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki contributes to the promotion of ideas and values embodied by the Culture of Peace, dedicating the 17th International Meeting of Folk Dancing Groups to the year 2000 - International Year for a Culture of Peace.
