Luis, the beach had been completely eroded; the restaurant, swimming
pool and jetty were badly damaged.

After the hurricane,
sand was dredged from the offshore zone and placed on the beach, so that
six months after the hurricane, the beach has been restored to its
pre-hurricane level. This
is, however, a very costly operation and may have to be repeated again
in the future. |
