The Peoples Republic of Bangladesh
A specialist from Bangladesh attended a regional workshop on ‘Integrated Coastal Zone Management’ in Chabahar, Iran in February 1996.
As part of the ‘Local and Indigenous Knowledge Systems’ (LINKS) initiative to integrate indigenous knowledge into development and conservation a project on ‘Landless Fishers in the Charan Region, Bangladesh’ was initiated in 2002. The goal is to use local knowledge of aquatic resources to determine viable sustainable development options.
