The Republic of Peru
One trainee from Peru attended an ‘International Training Course on Algal Biodiversity’ (Concepción, Chile March/April, 1996). A student attended courses in coastal sciences at the ‘UNESCO Chair’, University of Concepción, Chile (August to December 1996). Since 1997 the Chair has been supervised by UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission.
