CARIBBEAN - San Andres Archipelago (Colombia) Activities

Youth leadership activities

As part of Small Islands Voice, training workshops are being held with youth groups in San Andrés and Old Providence to develop the leadership skills, social responsibility, entrepreneurship, and fellowship necessary to create positive change. These are jointly organised by CORALINA and Junior Chamber International (Camara Junior de Colombia) www.juniorchamber.org

Workshops on internet management were held on 5th and 12th August, 2003, and on 26th and 27th November, 2003; and a workshop on project management was held on 10th September 2003.

On the 19th and 20th November 2003, a Future Search Conference was held on the role of youth in the sustainable development of the Archipelago. Forty students from 5 different educational centres in the island participated. The conference was a success, and allowed the organisers to identify the feeling and thinking of the group in regard to the reality of this archipelago.
