Activities
The
Office of the Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis accepted the
invitation to be the start-up country for Small Islands Voice
in the Caribbean region, by letter, dated 07.01.02. UNESCO consultant,
Ms Gillian Cambers, visited the country from 14-18th January 2002
to meet with individuals, organisations and the media, and to
lay the groundwork for the initiative. This was followed by a
second visit, 4-12th February, 2002, by Ms. Cambers, and Ms. Claire
Green, Communications Officer with UNESCO's Environment and Development
in Coastal Regions and Small Islands platform (CSI). Further meetings
were held and a trial survey was conducted to test out methods
for finding out the general public's views on environment and
development. During these visits, meetings were held with persons
