At
CEMED and Sagrada Familia Schools in San Andres, students
produce radio programmes for the school and wider community.
Sagrada
Familia School developed their own radio programme ECO-NECTATE,
this programme began airing in July 2004 and is heard
every Saturday. The programme is broadcast with the help
of a local radio station. They are also trying to create
an eco-neighbourhood.
At
the CEMED School a radio station has been set up in the
school and there are speakers in every classroom. Programmes
are prepared weekly by a group of about 20 students between
the ages of 15 and 18 years; programme content covers
topics such as peace to sharing natural resources. The
programmes are broadcast throughout the school, which
has a total of 480 students. Through Small Islands Voice,
radio equipment has been provided to this school.
