CARIBBEAN - San Andres Archipelago (Colombia) Activities

School Environmental Newsletters and Radio Programmes

CORALINA and Small Islands Voice are assisting several schools in San Andres with the production of their own environmental newsletters and radio programmes.

  • At the Luis Amigó School, two editions of the ECOS newsletter have been produced
  • At the CEMED School, a newsletter is being produced
  • At the Sagrada Familia students produced two bulletins of Ambiente Joven # 7 & 8

At CEMED and Sagrada Familia, students also produce radio programmes:

  • Sagrada Familia School developed their own radio programme ECO-NECTATE, this programme began airing in July 2004 and is heard every Saturday ˇ Equipment has also been purchased to develop the CEMED School radio station.
  • They acquired a Nippon America Graphic Equalizer EQ-100, RS-TR272 Black Noir, and Sony RCD-W1. The students are now transmitting programmes about peace and are sharing their knowledge with the community about sharing their natural resources.
