CARIBBEAN - St Vincent and the Grenadines Activities

Highlighting the Tobago Cays issue

Managing the Tobago Cays, one of St. Vincent and the Grenadines' national treasures, is a 'hot' debate at the moment, as government reviews competing plans for the management of this marine park by a private management company and a local NGO.

Read all the details in an article from the January 2004 issue of the Caribbean Compass 'The Tobago Cays in crisis', and recent (June 2004) updates on recent government decisions concerning the Tobago Cays, in 'The Tobago Cays: where will they go from here?' and 'Clear message is communication at Tobago Cays Educational Forum'.

Also read about how the youth of Bequia who are involved in Small Islands Voice and the Sandwatch project are 'doing their bit' by sharing their experience and knowledge about beach stability with the Myreau Environmental Development Organization in an article from the Vincentian entitled 'Giving back for Christmas'.
