New Drums for Outer Islands

Mangaia, Mitiaro, Pukapuka and Rakahanga will soon be receiving 55 gallon blue drums as part of REAP's "Help Keep Our Island Clean" campaign.

The drums have been donated by Anchor Milk-New Zealand and shipped freight-free from Auckland to Rarotonga by REEF Shipping.

They will be transported to the Outer Islands courtesy of Taio Shipping and the Miss Mataroa Shipping.

Once they reach their destinations, REAP's Environmental Rangers will paint environmental themes on the drums as part of their island environmental awareness efforts.

The island of Pukapuka recently received 20 drums courtesy of the Ministry of Works as the island prepares for the Purapura Games later this year. Freight-free shipping to Pukapuka was provided by Taio Shipping.
