Following
a Small Islands Voice inter-regional meeting in Bequia, St. Vincent
and the Grenadines, in July 2005, the Youth Internet Forum was
expanded to include a special section for primary schools students.
It was felt that younger students needed a special place of their
own to discuss their own issues and ideas.
Eleven
students from the higher grades in Hope Town School in Abaco,
Bahamas, under the guidance of the school's principal, Candace
Key, took up the challenge to write an article to launch this
new part of the forum and they selected ecotourism as their topic.
Read about their ideas for future jobs in ecotourism and their
(sadly unsuccessful) efforts to save a 200-year-old tree from
being cut down.
