A fourth phase
of the internet-based youth forum started in March and will run
until the end of the year. This forum is available for viewing
at http://www.sivyouth.org
(with user name view and password only).
Schools from
the following islands and their students are involved in the fourth
phase of the forum: Bahamas, Cuba, Dominica, St. Kitts and Nevis,
St. Vincent and the Grenadines, San Andres Archipelago in the
Caribbean; Maldives, Mauritius and Seychelles in the Indian Ocean;
Cook Islands, Fiji and Palau in the Pacific. Other islands are
also expressing interest and will be encouraged to participate.
Three main
themes are being discussed in the first instance:
- Changes
I would like to see in my island (this is a continuation of
a theme started in Phase 3)
- Can young
people make changes happen?
- What if
a tsunami hit my island?
Youth are
also invited to submit other themes for discussion.
