One of the
Small Islands Voice (SIV) activities that proved extremely useful
at the very beginning of the initiative was the holding of regular
inter-regional conference calls
when recent SIV activities, upcoming events and new ideas were
discussed. However, due to the fact that SIV has grown to include
many new islands - in different time zones - it is no longer feasible
to continue these calls.
Following
a suggestion from SIV partners in Seychelles, a Small Islands
Voice internet message board was established on a trial basis
in December 2003. This is being run on a trial basis for SIV coordinators
and it is hoped that everyone's proactive participation will provide
a means to communicate inter-regionally about SIV events and activities,
as well as news and ideas.
