Volume III
Africa from the Seventh to the Eleventh Century

Editor:
S.E. M.M. El Fasi (Morocco)

Assistant Editor:
Professor I. Hrbek (Czech Republic)

Summary :
Islam arrived in North Africa in the seventh century. The interactions between the new civilization, with its substantial religious component, and African cultural traditions in the regions of the North and West are covered in this volume. The Bantu expansion, which changed the demographic and language map of central and southern Africa, took place at the same time. The substantial contact which already existed between Africa and the rest of the world is discussed in this volume.
