U-40 World Forum "Cultural Diversity 2030"

The German Commission for UNESCO and the International Federation of the Coalition for Cultural Diversity (IFCCD) jointly organised the first U40-World Forum on the occasion of the second Conference of Parties of the UNESCO Convention on the Diversity of Cultural Expressions (Paris, June 2009). As a pre-conference, the U40-World Forum was held back-to-back with the Conference of Parties in Paris/France with 50 young professionals from 34 countries. In light of the quality of the first U40-World Forum 2009 the work with the 50 U40-fellows will be continued via e-platforms and regional meetings. The entire network will physically meet during a second U40-World Forum in Autumn 2010 in Istanbul/Turkey, European Capital of Culture 2010. The second U40-World Forum will consist of two main elements:
1) A panel discussion open to the public, representatives of government and civil society interested in cultural diversity and specifically in the objectives of the 2005-Convention
2) A workshop with the U40-fellows evaluating the results of the work 2009/2010 and develop further activities and measures to promote the diversity of cultural expressions.
