The 5th International Symposium on Traditional Polyphony

The biannual International Symposium on Traditional Polyphonyhas taken place in the Tbilisi State Conservatoire since 2002. UNESCO's proclamation of Georgian Polyphony as a Masterpiece of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity became a stimulus for the establishment of the Symposium and the International Research Center for Traditional Polyphony.
Total of 82 scholars from 26 countries and more than 1000 performers of Georgian and World polyphony took part in the symposia. Similar to the previous forum, the 5th Symposium will be another evidence that the peoples of the world have commonly shared values.
