International Summer University on "Diversity Management in Culture, Politics and Society"

The Europe House at Kőszeg, at a small medieval town in Hungary close to the Austrian border, has managed to become one of the most important educational centres in the region. The title and the main focus of its International Summer University “Diversity management in culture, politics and society” reflects the new MA program on Cultural Heritage Management and Sustainable Development which was launched last year at the institute.

This year, celebrating the 15th anniversary of the International Summer University, and associating with the International Year for the Rapprochement of Cultures, UNESCO Ambassadors and other representatives of the Secretariat are invited to discuss different practices of cultural heritage management. Lecturers and participants from over 15 countries will themselves contribute to manage diversity by bringing their cultures closer to each other.

UNESCO's celebration gives an impetus for local and sub-regional initiatives of that sort. Cultural rapprochement at all level can significantly contribute to the sustainability of the Earth and the well-being of societies living in it.
