Central Asia-Korea Arts Community Project

Résumé

This project aims to promote cooperation between Central Asia and Korea by developing common materials using storytelling techniques and contributing to the Asian Culture Complex, which is scheduled to open in 2013 in Gwangju, Republic of Korea.
In line with its implementation, MCST plans to hold the 3rd Central Asia-Korea Meeting on Cultural Resource Collaboration (2-3 June 2010 in Kazakhstan) and a Forum (Nov. 2010 in Korea) this year.

As a result of the 1st and 2nd Central Asia Meeting on Cultural Resource Collaboration (26-27 Aug., 28-29 Oct. 2009 in Korea) among Central Asian countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan) and Korea, a 'Storytelling Committee' consisting of experts on myths and governmental officials of each region was established, and launched the joint project to enhance intercultural understanding through sharing myths, folktales, and epic tales of Central Asia and Korea.
