Weekend Seminar: Cross Cultural Dialogue

This seminar is organized by the “Studienbegleitprogramm Niedersachsen”, a co-curricular program for students from Africa, Asia and Latin America, in cooperation with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
Being abroad exposes international students to new experiences in a foreign society. They are invited to reflect on their impressions with other students from different countries. This shall prepare for a future in cross cultural working teams and international settings.
There will be group-discussions, role-plays and some theoretical input from experts on the topic of Managing cultural diversity and conflict sensitivity in intercultural contexts. There will be a guided tour of St. Michael's Church in Hildesheim, part of the UNESCO World Heritage List. We will discuss the UNESCO world heritage program and its challenges and controversies. The students will present a site of this heritage program from their home countries.
