Peace and Tolerance Cinema Forum, Art/Photo Exhibition, young artists contest and International Tolerance Day Forum in the framework of Peace and Tolerance Initiative

Résumé

UNICEF's Russia Office has supported "Peace and Tolerance" (P&T) activities in the North Caucasus for
several years. In 2009, 5,000 children and 100 teachers participated in Peace and Tolerance training courses,
over 300 children and young people participated in summer peace camps and other forums conducted by
UNICEF and local governments; 1,500 copies of "Peacemaker" magazine were produced by children and
distributed in schools; a Peace Centre was established and equipped for children and youth in the Nalchik
(Youth Problems Institute); and 13 district P&T centres' network for young people were created. In 2010,
these activities will continue, along with a Peace and Tolerance cinema forum, Art/Photo exhibition young
artists contest, and International Tolerance Day Forum.
