Training program for young heritage professionals: "Interpretation nad management of heritage sites"

Résumé

Training program (approx. of 2 weeks) for young heritage professionals addressed to both Indian and Polish young specialists in heritage management and heritage education. Kraków as the UNESCO site, reach in multiple examples of high quality heritage and in experience of top quality specialists in restoration, renovation and heritage management, and last but not least the ICC itself, seams to offer the best conditions for such a training program, which might inspire further Asian-European co-operation in training especially junior heritage professionals.
The group between 6-10 Indian and 6-10 Polish participants (representing various levels of heritage educators, local government officials and NGOs professionals active in heritage protection and management) will jointly take part in the program consisting of panel discussions and seminars, sightseeing and workshops organised in Krakow and different heritage sites in the Małopolska Region (representing, among others, vernacular architecture, different issues in sculpture, painting and wall painting conservation and restoration). The aim of the program is mutual understanding and cross culture dialogue with reference to the civic society issues as well as advanced professional training. Exchanging their experiences and learning new skills in heritage protection and management the participants will confront different philosophy and understanding of natural, material and tangible heritage both in Asia and Europe together with different attitudes in its protection, restoration and maintenance. This is to be achieved through direct contact with conservation and restoration as well as heritage management professionals, both practitioners and of academic background as well as involvement in local cultural projects.
