International meeting "Convention in the Middle-East"

In UEA a Commission called "Komisiono por agado en la landoj de la Meza Oriento kaj Norda Afriko - MONA" (Commission for action in the countries of Middle East and Northern Africa) is already working during many years. See Turkey has been chosen as an ideal place for a Convention between Esperanto-speaking people from many countries as different as Israel, Iran, Arab countries, Armenia, and so on. A first meeting was held in 2009 in Iznik. A similar meeting is planned for Ankara in 2010. During the meeting interesting discussions about the situation in the Middle East are possible between people whose countries are in very bad relations. That contributes to enlarge the experiences of all participants. A unique Convention, which is possible in the very friendly atmosphere of the Esperanto world.
Stages: - presenting the convention during the year 2009 by articles in the Esperanto press and in web pages in Esperanto - finding the participants - finding the local facilities for the convention Human and financial resources: - Esperanto-speaking people acting on a voluntary basis - Budgetary funds from the normal budget of the Commision MONA of UEA Used tools: - extended use of Internet commmunication facilities.
