International Festival "Theater der Welt 2010"

Résumé

Theater der Welt 2010 has no specific motto, its theme is self-evident: artists from every corner of the earth – from Europe, Africa, Asia, America and Oceania – are invited to come to Essen and Mülheim for three weeks. Here they present their work to local audiences. The festival will focus on contemporary art. Because these pay little attention to rigid formal boundaries, the festival’s work is similarly interdisciplinary. The contemporary is a global language which not only connects art forms but is also understood by everybody. The relationship between Western and non-Western art is of particular interest. Theater der Welt 2010 focuses on artists and their work in order to facilitate a shift in perspective. The festival introduces individual artists with their ways of looking at the world and with them a diverse range of artistic vocabularies and signatures.
Varoius workshops and seminars in coopeartion with German universities and artistic cooperations between local and international artists.
