Growth and Expansion Phase of the Farm - a Rural/International Center for Cultural Exchange

Over the course of 2010, Double Edge Theatre will be implementing a diverse series of programming and activities at the Farm - a 100-acre Rural/International Center for Performance, Collaboration, and Training in Western Massachusetts. Activities include multi-disciplinary performances, symposia, pedagogy, and the gathering of artists, thinkers, spectators, and students for artistic, cultural, intellectual, and pedagogical exchange. Other new initiatives this year will provide a platform to also implement rural development strategies, development plan for emerging artists from underdeveloped regions worldwide, a greening plan, and a plan to share alternative models for sustainable cultural communities. At the heart of this multi-faceted and diverse programming is to further develop and articulate the theatre's mission to create and promote 'Living Culture' as well as to further examine relationship between community and culture, its intrinsic impact as well as its social, political, and economic impact on a local and global scale.
