10th annual Ottawa Community Kwanzaa Celebration


In celebration of UNESCO International Year for Rapprochement of Culture, Jaku Konbit in Partnership with the Canada Museum of Civilization, Ottawa Police, and the Ottawa Community Immigrant Services Organization (OCISO) will be hosting the 10th Annual Ottawa Community Kwanzaa Celebration on Monday, Decemebr 27, 2010.

The goal of the Ottawa Community Kwanzaa Celebration is to promote and showcase the rich contribution and achievements that people of African descent have made to Canada,t o add to the multicultural mosaic landscape of the National Capital Region of which Ottawa is a model example. This goal is embodied in the theme of Kwanzaa 2010, which is: “Kwanzaa - The Spirit of Togetherness”

The celebration offers a magnificent opportunity to experience the sights, sounds and taste of the Africa and the African Diaspora Community through a dynamic showcase of arts, dancers, drumming, singing, poetry, storytelling, music, cuisine, unique displays, clothing and entertainment for the entire family.
