Choral "Perpetual Light: Requiem for an Unscorched Earth"

Résumé

Perpetual Light is a choral Requiem performed in and at decommissioned nuclear sites around the world. It is an evocative and emotionally charged work which remembers those who lost their lives in nuclear attack, whilst inviting the audience to engage with its simple, powerful message of hope. Despite the fact that we have created weapons with the capacity to decimate the entire world, we have not yet destroyed ourselves; we are still here. Perpetual Light is a testament to humans' extraordinary will to survive.

Perpetual Light was launched in the UK in September 2010. Following this other forms of performance and dissemination of the work will evolve including a bunker in virtual online world, Second Life, Youth Music projects, and tours to more conventional venues such as churches and theatres worldwide.
