UNESCO Etxea: Defenders of the Human Rights acting against Discrimination


On December 9, 2010, took place in Bilbao the roundtable “Defenders of the Human Rights acting against the discrimination” at the University of Deusto.
This meeting was inserted in the acts of the Award ceremony of the 2010 UNESCO / Bilbao Prize for the Promotion of a Culture of Human Rights, which has been hand in Bilbao on 10 December. This award was given in 2010 to the Pakistani activist Ms. Asma Jahangir, an advocate of human rights for women and children especially. In the rountable participated, Ms. Asma Jahangir, another two international experts, part of the jury of the UNESCO/Bilbao Prize for the Promotion of the Culture of the Human Rights and took part at this meeting, Ms. Leila Zerrougui and Mr. Nasila S. Rembe. The aim is to promote in the public of Bilbao and Basque Country the goal of the Prize: the culture of the human rights, by showing the work made in their daily life against the discrimination.
