The Unit is responsible for the preparation of the meetings of the governing bodies of the Convention and the processing of nominations to the Lists of the Convention, the proposals for the Register of Best Safeguarding Practices, the request for international assistance and periodic reports presented by States Parties to the Convention.

2 - Programme and Evaluation Unit
The Unit is charged with coordination of the planning and the implementation of programmes in the field of intangible cultural heritage undertaken by the Section, by the Field Offices and by the Member States; it is in charge of technical evaluation of nominations, proposals, requests and reports submitted by States Parties as well as the mobilization of extrabudgetary resources in support of the Section’s activities.
