Le Gouvernement de l’Espagne a commencé en 2009 à soutenir le Secrétariat de la Convention de 2003 par le biais du projet « Appui à la mise en œuvre de la Convention de 2003 pour la sauvegarde du patrimoine culturel immatériel à travers du développement et la maintenance d’un système de gestion de l’information et de la production , la traduction et la diffusion de matériels de formation ». Le projet permet également :
- la traduction et l’impression du kit d’information sur le patrimoine culturel immatériel en espagnol, et sa large diffusion auprès des pays de langue espagnole,
- la réalisation de la version espagnole de la publication relative aux éléments inscrits en 2009 sur les Listes,
- la publication de brochures sur le patrimoine immatériel adaptés aux contextes locaux en Amérique latine.
L’Espagne a ratifié la Convention de 2003 en Octobre 2006 et contribue donc également au Fonds du patrimoine culturel immatériel établi en vertu de la Convention de 2003. L’Espagne finance régulièrement l’interprétation en espagnol des réunions du Comité.

The project contributes to strengthening the capacities of States Parties to the Convention to participate more effectively in the international mechanisms of the Convention through the development and maintenance of the information management system and the ICH website. It also helps tp enhance the international exchange of information by collecting and disseminating country information on safeguarding measures and good practices implemented at the national level. It also finances the translation into Spanish, production, and dissemination to Spanish-speaking countries of the newly-published Information Kit on ICH:. It also supports the publication of locally-adapted brochures about intangible heritage in Latin America.
