To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Convention for Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, the Open-Air Museum Vysočina will host an exhibition devoted to the traditional culture of Vysočina region and its bearers. The exhibition will be located in the farmstead from Mokrá Lhota and it will present traditional customs as they are celebrated today. Especially two elements inscribed on the national list of the intangible cultural heritage will be highlighted – the “Shrovetide Door-to-Door Processions and Masks in the Villages of the Hlinecko Area” (also inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List) and the Easter custom of “Burning the Judas”. Another part of the exhibition will concentrate on traditional craftsmen – their profiles, photographs and products – some of them proclaimed the “Bearers of Folk Craft Tradition” – a title awarded by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic. A cultural event related to the exhibition opening will take place on April 27 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
