Discipline: classical and contemporary technique (adavanced level) and character dance.

The host and partner institution: the "Ecole supérieure de danse du Québec" is a contemporary ballet school which aims to offer professionnal training that suits the changing realities of an evolving art. Among its graduates, more than 500 are professional dancers belonging to a number of reknowned dance companies in Canada or abroad.

Facilities provided: participation in all advanced dance classes offered by the School.

Nature of the bursary: round trip travel, suscription, tuition, accomodation in a supervised hostel or in a host family, full board. Artists must provide their own health isurance.

Dates of the residency: 22 July to 16 August 2002 Eligibility: classical, contemporary or hip-hop dancers, between 15 and 20 years of age. Working knowledge of English or French required.

How to apply: apply directly to the "Ecole Supérieure du Québec" by sending a curriculum vitae indicating size, a recent photo, a statement of intent, two reference letters, a recent medical certificate of good health, a videotape VHS of recent performances. The dancer must be alone and easily identifiable. The tape must be in good condition and rewound (maximum length 20 minutes).

Deadline: 30 March 2002.
