Residency in the framework of the "prixfidanse", Paris France (2003-2004)

Discipline: contemporary dance.

The partner institutions: Radio France Internationale (RFI) has created the "prixfidanse", which aims at promoting, at the international level, African creativity, especially contemporary dance. This activity, organised in collaboration with the AFAA, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the "Agence Inter-gouvernementale de la Francophonie", annually presents the best production from Africa or the Indian Ocean area (Comores, Madagascar, Mauritius, Seychelles) in Paris and on a tour.

Facilities provided: presentation of a performance with an audience composed of professionals, on a tour in France (three performances on an important Parisian venue and provinces) and the year after, a tour in Africa.

Nature of the bursary: round trip travel, living expenses and reception in France and, the year after, in Africa, for a company selected by the Jury.

Dates of the residency: first term 2004 and first term 2005.

Eligibility: dance companies, from Africa or the Indian Ocean area (Comores, Madagascar, Mauritius, Seychelles), living in its country, able to present performances at professional levels.

How to apply: apply directly to RFI by sending a video cassette and technical data of the performance. The company's application should include list of performances and venues where they were presented, press articles etc.

Deadline: 31 March 2003.

In addition to the completed file to the institution, a copy of the application form in this publication should be sent absolutely to the IFPC.

Note: this is a bursary offered to a dance company. Applications of individual artists will not be considered.
