Caniglan Vessel Attached to Noria Used to Raise Water

Vessels or containers such as this were attached to the crown of the Noria to extract and raise water at different levels. In the city water extracted in this manner was used for potable supply, as well for public baths. In the country this water was used to irrigate areas that would have not been possible to irrigate because of gravity.
