20 10 2004 - 22 10 2004  A National Workshop on the Implementation of the Convention on the Means of Prohibiting and Preventing the Illicit Import, Export and Transfer of Owernship of Cultural Property (Paris, 1970), and the UNIDROIT Convention on Stolen or Illegally Exported Cultural Objects (Rome, 1995) is being organized in co-operation with the DPRK's National Commission for UNESCO. 
The UNESCO Prize for the Promotion of the Arts Bamako, Mali

28 09 2004 - UNESCO Director-General, Koïchiro Matsuura, will present the Sharjah Prize for Arab Culture to the two 2004 laureates, Tunisian researcher Abdelwahab Bouhdiba and Spanish historian Juan Vernet Ginés, at a ceremony to be held at Headquarters on October 1 (7 p.m., Room II).
