Education Minister. Mrs. Obaji served as Minister from May 2005 to June 2006.
From the last week of June 2006, Mrs. Oby Ezekwezili served as Nigeria's
Minister of Education. And during July 2007, Dr. Igwe Aja-Nwachuku
was appointed Nigeria's Education Minister. Dr. Aja-Nwachuku stopped
being Nigeria's Education Minister on Wednesday 29 October, 2008.

Nigeria is an active member of the Governing Council of the
International Bureau of Education [IBE]: As such; and as
a valuable member of the global community - Nigeria will
take part in the Tuesday 25 November to Friday 28 November,
2008 48th Session of the International Conference on
Education [ICE] which will hold in Geneva, Switzerland.

Nigeria's Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Igwe

Friday 19 to Saturday 20 October was UNESCO's Ministerial

From 28 to 30 November, 2005, the Honourable Minister of Education:
Mrs. Chinwe Nora Obaji was in Beijing, China to represent the Federal
Republic of Nigeria at the Fifth High-Level Group Meeting on Education
For All [EFA]. The meeting of the High-Level Group brought together
several Heads of State; and Governments, some thirty Ministers of
Education and of International Co-operation, senior officials of
development agencies and civil society representatives. The meeting
focused on literacy and providing a clear review of the progress
in that area and the major challenges that remain. Also, the Beijing
meeting strongly centered on addressing the crucial issue of education
for rural people; enhancing partnership through a Joint Action Plan,

Previously, during the October 3 to 21, 2005 33rd Session of UNESCO's
General Conference, the Honourable Minister of Education: Mrs. Obaji
