Dr. Aliyu Idi Hong was sworn in as Nigeria's Honourable
Minister of State for Culture, Tourism and National
Orientation on Thursday 26 July, 2007.
Born on December 31, 1967, Dr. Hong holds a Bachelor of
Science (B.Sc) in Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery
(MBBS) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria.
He began his career in 2001 as a Medical Officer with
Giwa Specialist Hospital, Kaduna. Between 2003 and
2006, he worked as a part-time Medical Officer with
the Federal University of Technology Clinic, Yola.
In 2003, Dr. Hong was appointed Senior Legislative
Aide at Nigeria's National Assembly - comprising the
Senate and House of Representatives, a position he
held until his appointment as Minister of State by
President Umaru Musa Yar'adua.
