Alhaji Ibrahim Dasuki S. Nakande was born in Jos,
Plateau State of Nigeria on the 15 August, 1955.
He attended Primary School in Jos, the Gyel Commercial
College in Bukuru and the Kaduna Polytechnic from
1974 - 1980. He is an alumni Member of the Lagos
Business School, a Member of the Chartered Institute
of Administration and an Associate Member of the
Chartered Institute of Personnel Management.
Alhaji Nakande has had varied working experience and
had held several important positions, in industry,
in Local Government and at the Federal Government
level in Nigeria. Some of such positions are:
Secretary, Jos North Local Government (1991 - 1993),
Territorial Manager (Lagos Island) Nigerian
Telecommunication Limited (NITEL) (1997 - 2000),
Deputy General Manager (Human Resources) (NITEL)
(2000).
In addition to his numerous official duties and
responsibilities, Alhaji Nakande was also involved
in several activities especially those concerning
staff, their recreation and their welfare. In that
context he was Chairman of NITEL United Football
Club, from 1988 to 2000; President of NITEL/NIPOST
Senior Staff Association from 1994-1998; Vice
President-General, Senior Staff Association of
Statutory Corporation and Government owned Companes
1995-1998; President-General of the Kaduna
Polytechnic 1977-1978 and Vice President General,
National Association of Technological Students
1978 - 1979.
Alhaji Nakande was appointed Minister of State,
Federal Ministry of Information and Communications
on Thursday 26 July, 2007.
