THE PERMANENT
DELEGATE'S MESSAGE

His Excellency:
Professor Michael Abiola Omolewa

Ambassador and Permanent Delegate
of Nigeria to UNESCO
32nd Session President of
UNESCO General Conference

NIGERIAN PERMANENT DELEGATION TO UNESCO

I heartily welcome you to the web site of Nigeria's Permanent Delegation to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). On our web pages, we intend to give you information concerning Nigeria's role and involvement in international cooperation, humane solidarity, responsible leadership and empathic diplomacy through our participation in the work of UNESCO.

Nigeria's contributions to the work and activities of UNESCO as well as the organization's cooperation and support of Nigeria in the fields of education, science, culture, communication, cultural heritage, tolerance, peace, human rights, information and technology will feature extensively on our site. Details of Nigeria's participation and advocacy in UNESCO's deliberations will also be seen on our web pages:

In fact, concerning Nigeria at UNESCO, this is your one-stop spot.

Apart from the activities of the Permanent Delegation, the participation of Nigerian delegates, experts and specialists in the work of UNESCO's various intergovernmental bodies will also be reflected on our site. Indeed, Nigeria is an elected Member State on seven of such intergovernmental bodies. Nigeria also has observer status on all others.

Notably, Nigeria is currently a Member of the Executive Board of UNESCO

For me, the opportunity to serve as the President of the 32nd Session of the General Conference has been an enthralling experience which I cherish very much. I would like to thank God Almighty and all those who contributed to making it possible.
