This Programme of Assistance People, which was launched in May 1995, is UNESCO's contribution to peace building in the Middle East, in particular between Israelis and Palestinians. By strengthening Palestinian institutions and contributing to the development of a culture of peace, we hope that UNESCO will fulfil its mission, which is a mission of peace.
